Quarantine Things: Keeping Up with All the Changes
Due to the most recent pandemic of COVID-19, Troy University has switched over to alternative methods and online classes for students. Quarantine time is not always fun, and many people are having a hard time with this transitioning. Here are a few tips that you can implement in your quarantine time that can help you stay on track for school and maintain a self-care regimen
1. Wake up (and go to sleep) at a reasonable time.
By waking up at a decent time, you maximize your ability to use your time wisely. Once you wake up at 2 or 3 p.m. the day is halfway over and makes us even less inclined to get up and do anything. Of course you have to go to sleep on time in order to wake up at a reasonable hour, so remember to maintain a set time that works for you.
2. Keep some form of a schedule
Being out of your regular routine can sometimes breed procrastination. Even though you are not physically in class, it is still extremely important to make time for your work. Writing a schedule or keeping to-do list on your phone helps keep you on track. Try it!
3. Keep in contact with your classmates and teachers
All of us are new to this transition to online classes. You are NOT alone! Don’t hesitate to use your email and Canvas to stay in touch with teachers. The questions you have may very well be a question everyone needs to know.
4. CHECK YOUR EMAIL.
I know, I know. Checking your email can be a blessing and a curse. However, with things constantly changing we need to stay on top of the most current memos that Troy may send out.
5. Implement some new hobbies
The fact that a lot of our typical activities like school extracurricular activities, movies, and even restaurants are closed we need to find new ways to stay entertained. Read a book, or find some new music to listen to. These new hobbies can allow you to take time to explore new things while working to maintain your health.
6. Broaden your social media and gaming apps
Apps like TikTok and Frankly allow people to stay social while still being active. Frankly is a game app that includes video chat capabilities. You can video chat with friends while asking questions about love, life, and laughter. TikTok is a revolutionary dance app where thousands of people have taken on challenges involving the most well know music and memes. Have Fun!
I hope these tips help you during these crazy times! Remember to stay healthy, drink your water, and practice social distancing.
